Charlotte Parent

Charlotte Morgan Parent, RN, BSN, MHCM, is the Vice President of Business Development for University Medical Center of New Orleans, a member of Louisiana-based, non-for-profit healthcare system LCMC Health. In her role at UMC, she is responsible for developing strategic business plans and identifying opportunities for strategic growth of the facility. Ms. Parent is also the executive over the Ambulatory Clinics at UMC with over 75 specialty clinics and primary care services.   Prior to this role, Ms. Parent served as the Assistant Vice President for Community Affairs at LCMC Health where she worked on the coordination and implementation of Public Health Opportunities on public health initiatives, including the oversight of the 2018 Community Health Needs Assessments for the LCMC system. 

Ms. Parent served as the Director of Health for the City of New Orleans in 2014, where she led the nationally accredited New Orleans Health Department. Under her leadership, the Health Department developed and implemented the city’s citywide smoking ban, homelessness initiatives, coordinated efforts related to domestic violence and sexual assault as well as health in all places initiatives in city government.  While in her role as Health Director, Ms. Parent also served on the Board of the Hospital Service District for New Orleans East Hospital and was part of the team that re-built the facility bringing healthcare back to New Orleans East.  For a short time, she also served as the CEO of New Orleans East Hospital after its’ opening in 2014. 

Parent received her diploma in nursing from Charity Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in New Orleans and a Master of Science in Health Care Management from the University of New Orleans.
